Central Square
- Computers have been removed and will return later in the summer in their new space next to the copy center. The printer remains next to the exit desk for the time being.
- Furniture in the group study rooms G to V has started to migrated in anticipation of the installation of new carpet. The remaining carrels have been removed this week as well, many are being recycled into new locations in Scott and elsewhere on campus.
- The reserve desk public computers were relocated to the circulation side of the service desk. All reserve transactions regularly move to the circulation side in the summer.
Third floor
- Carpet installation on two of the new compact shelving sections has been completed
- The shelving installer will start this week assembling new shelving. As each section of rail and floor are installed, carpet follows and then new shelves.
- This part of the project is ahead of schedule but it is too early to speculate on the dates when books will be returned to their shelves.
- Beginning last week, carpet on the Government Documents seating and shelving will be removed. Working around the existing shelving, carpet will be lifted and then replaced in two weeks time.
- Study tables will be removed to allow carpet contractor to lift and replace that area as well.
- New wired tables will be installed later in the summer.
- Access to the collections in the Government Documents stacks should not be impeded, except in any area where contractor is actively working on the floor. Restrictions will be temporary.
*Wherever floor surfaces are being renovated, users and staff are advised to be aware that surfaces will be safe but unfamiliar.
